CHOCOLATE GRANOLA FREEZER BARS

These deliciously moreish freezer treats will satisfy your chocolate cravings whilst giving you a boost of fibre, calcium and friendly bacteria!

Time: 10-15 mins plus 1 hour in the freezer

INGREDIENTS


200g Low fat greek yoghurt (there is some good fats in the nuts so no need for extra)


200g Low sugar Granola (there is sweetness in the dates and chocolate so no need for extra)


200g Dates


200g 80-85% Dark Chocolate


100g Chopped roasted hazelnuts


1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)




METHOD


Blend the yoghurt, vanilla extract and dates together in a food processor (or smiliar) to make a smooth paste


Melt the chocolate in the microwave or over a pan of hot water


Mix the granola and nuts togther in a bowl


Add the chocolate to the granola and nuts and stir well


Add the dates and yoghurt to the chocolate and granola and stir well


Line a tray with clingfilm


Add the mixture to the tray, spread out a press down firmly


Freeze for 1 hour and then cut into 25 equal pieces


Store in the freezer and take out a few minutes before eating (it will last out of the freezer much longer but will go a little soft)




MAKE IT YOUR OWN


Add dried fruit or different nuts like pecans or walnuts
