This warming winter breakfast tastes like a delicious morning treat, and is filled with fiberous oats and nuts, plus 1 of your five-a-day!
NUTRITION per serving
Approx. 500 calories & 15g protein
50g or 1/2 cup whole rolled oats
200-250ml semi-skimmed milk depending on how thick you like your porridge (or milk substitute)
1 tsp of unswetened cocoa powder
10g chopped roasted hazelnuts
1 handful frozen raspberries
1-2 tsp honey (depending on how sweet you like it
A few blueberries
Add the oats and milk into a microwaveable container
Cook in the microwave for about 2mins
Give it a stir and put it back on for another minute - but keep an eye on when its starts to bubble!
Once it is bubbling away it is ready
Remove from the microwave and pop the frozen raspberries into the microwave for 1min or until they have defrosted and warmed a little
Top the cooked porridge with the warmed raspberries, nuts, honey, cocoa powder and blueberries and serve
MAKE IT YOUR OWN
Mix up the fruits and add your favourites - a little apple and cinnamon is also nice!
Change up the nuts for peacans or walnuts
